History
Making a Difference
Puerto Rico Christian School (PRCS) was founded in 1971-72 by William and Virginia Loft, along with two dedicated teachers, Katherine Rhodes and Mary Moore Reece, with the goal of providing a Christian education in English for missionary families and the local community. Initially, classes were held in rented houses in Levittown with a small group of students, but as the school grew, land was purchased, and a new campus was built in 1985.
PRCS has expanded significantly over the years, now serving approximately 400 students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12. While it began primarily with students from missionary families, the student body now consists mainly of Puerto Rican families, many of whom seek an English-language education with a Christian foundation.
In addition to academic excellence, PRCS offers daily Bible classes and chapel sessions, focusing on Christian teachings and values. The school remains committed to providing a quality Christian education in a nurturing and spiritually grounded environment.
Our Mission
Building the Future
Puerto Rico Christian School, in conjunction with the home and the church, exists to provide a quality English education for the whole student - spiritually, academically, socially, and physically - producing well-adjusted, morally sound individuals equipped to transform society for the glory of God.
Our Philosophy
Puerto Rico Christian School (PRCS) provides a quality English education from a Christian perspective. Teaching is based on the absolute truths revealed in the Bible and the application of those truths is emphasized in every area of study. Standards are set to elevate the students to academic excellence. In addition, key principles of Christian character are taught in an effort to train students to whole-heartedly rise to the standard of Christian conduct in obedience, respect, and self-discipline. Our main emphases are academic and spiritual. Thus, the Bible and Christian training are not “extras” but integral parts of every area of study, emphasizing a direct relationship with the sovereign God.
